Signac is, alongside Seurat, one of the founders of Pointillism or Divisionism. This science-based pictorial technique consists in placing small touches of pure colors next to each other, leaving the eye recompose the image. In this 1925 canvas, the artist represents one of the two lighthouses of Port-Tudy on the island of Groix. The painting can be admired at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
