Paul Cezanne painted the mountain Sainte-Victoire more than 80 times, using oil and watercolors. He painted this canvas after a visit by Renoir, who uses a similar viewpoint in one of his works. Cold and warm colors complement each other in great harmony. The composition is organised around a house with an orange roof in the center.
