Louis-Eugène Lambert was an animal painter born in 1825 and deceased in 1900. A student of the famous painter Eugène Delacroix, he specialized in the representation of pets. He took on the nickname of 'Cat Lambert' or 'Cat Raphael' at the 1847 Salon where he was a great success.
