LE DOUANIER ROUSSEAU
ADULTS WOODEN JIGSAW
1000 PIECES
Description
Hand-cut art wooden jigsaw puzzle of circa 1000 pieces - Made in France and environmentally friendly.
Henri Rousseau, nicknamed the Customs Officer, is one of the leading figures of naïve art. Although he never left France, he created numerous jungle landscapes inspired by illustrated books and botanical gardens. In 1910, he painted Le Rêve (The Dream), a large painting measuring approximately two meters by three. In this imaginary jungle with oversized flowers, a woman is depicted, reclining on a sofa.
As you put the puzzle together, you will gradually uncover the richness of this mysterious montage: a flute player hidden amid the vegetation, a snake slithering between the leaves and many other details hidden against its abundantly tropical backdrop. The work is housed in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Size: 21,5x14,6" approx.
