Claude Monet moved to Giverny in 1893 and began construction of his water garden there. He started painting water lilies in 1899 and went on to immortalise them more than 250 times in his last 25 years! Painted around 1916, this work is in the Monet Marmottan Museum. In it, Monet focused on the reflections of the skies and willow branches over his beloved water lily ponds.
