Hasui Kawase was a Japanese painter and illustrator born in 1883 and deceased in 1957. He belonged to the Shin-Hanga, lit. 'new prints', movement. This print represents the bridge of the Kameido sanctuary in Tokyo, a source of inspiration for many Japanese artists. From mid-April, it becomes a must-see site because of its blooming wisterias.
