< Gustave Caillebotte (1848-1894) was a major figure of Impressionism as an artist but also as a patron of arts. This work, completed in 1875, is one of the most well-known ones by the artist. It represents an unusual subject for the period: city workers. The modernity of the work stems from the quasi photographic framing. This canvas can be admired at the Orsay museum in Paris.
