In Les vendeuses de rosquillas à Séville (The Sweet Pastry Sellers of Seville), dating back to 1881, Manuel Ussel de Guimbarda depicts a bustling crossroads in the historic heart of Seville. Vendors sell rosquillas, traditional Spanish ring-shaped pastries. Around them, passersby, building facades and everyday objects come together to form a richly detailed scene, reflecting popular Andalusian life at the time. Each piece of this puzzle reveals the finesse of the details and the liveliness of the street. The original work is on display at the Carmen Thyssen Museum in Malaga.
