Alain Thomas is a contemporary artist living near Nantes, considered the leader of the naïve primitive school. Self-taught, for 40 years he has been painting - with naturalistic precision - a colourful universe where animals are key protagonists. The parakeet on the left of this work is recognised by its long tail. The Amazon, on the other hand, is a parrot from the Amazon which has some very colourful varieties.
